another finish

I stitched this whilst at the cottage. It was June's FFF from Kaaren.
I should have taken a picture of the back as well to show you what fabric I used.  My basket of pin cushions continues to grow.

Wildflowers

These are some wildflowers currently blooming.

This is a yellow Lady Slipper
.

The next two are Marsh Marigolds

Lily of the Valley

Mystery flower - I cannot identify it.  If you know what it is please let me know.

This is chokecherry - very fragrant and makes wonderful jelly and/or syrup.  I hope I can find enough cherries to make some.

little dog

This is little dog and she is doing a fine job as only dog.  She used to be the naughty one .... I miss some of her naughtiness.

When she saw the camera she posed for this one - she forgot to put her ears up!

Summer reading

Here's what I've been reading this summer - I know, it's still spring by the calendar and  it actually felt like winter one day this week.

This one was action packed and a good read although a bit far fetched.

'The Lucky One' is a warm fuzzy read that is typical of Nicholas Sparks.  I'm currently reading 'The Fifth Witness' and quite enjoying it.  Michael Connelly's character, Harry Bosch, is my favourite, though!

This is my next read.  A cottage neighbour gave it to me last year.  It's the first of a trilogy .... hmm, wonder if she has the other two, lol.

my first quilt

This is the first quilt that I ever made - that was about 20 years ago.  I had seen a quilt show on PBS (Eleanor Burns perhaps) that showed how to make a bow tie block with a 3D knot rather than a flat knot ... it was fun to create.  I even hand quilted it!!! This one was made from fabric left over from sewing outfits for my two wee granddaughters.  I'd hoped they cuddle in this quilt and pick out the fabrics that had made them a dress, shorts, or whatever.

a Christmas finish

I started this one just after last Christmas - it's been waiting for a photograph for quite some time.    I wanted to finish it as a stocking that could be stuffed with greenery or such and succeeded.  The aida cloth that I'm using is stiffer than what I'm used to and is a challenge to work with when doing the finishing ... at least that's my excuse.  It was a free design from here.
