some geese are back .....

Spring arrived by the calendar but our weather turned COLD upon it's arrival.  There are some Canada Geese back already, which we considered a good sign although we're wondering if they're as confused as the rest of us.  Anyway, I've managed to get all my inside spring cleaning done so that I'll be able to tackle the outdoor stuff as soon as the snow disappears and it dries up.

I had accumulated so many 'things' that I'd made over the winter that I was able to package them up  and send to friends.

I stitched this candlemat with a Val Laird design that is a favourite of mine and sent it to my best friend  - now I need to stitch one for myself.

A new primitive welcome for the front door.

May your blessings ......

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day we have a new candle mat.  The
design is from Bumble Bean Inc.

May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow
And may trouble avoid you wherever you go.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

odds 'n ends ...

With Spring on the way I've been finishing up a few pieces .....

The Spring Basket is home to St. Patrick's, Easter, and Spring items.....

The turquoise butterfly is crocheted from embroidery floss - the butterflies are for the Spring Basket.  The coasters and lavender sachets are gifts.

We've had wonderfully warm weather this week and there is lots of water running in the streets.

a mouse in the house!

There's a new mouse in the house and she's settled herself in the Spring Basket - here she is posing alone.

This book was a good an excellent read!!   I'd spent so much time in the sewing room this winter that I decided to surface to the sunshine-filled living room and read this book for a few afternoons.

And I finally have a finish to share .....  It took me awhile to come up with a finish with which I was satisfied - this poor Nigel has been 'through the mill' whilst I fiddled with ideas.  I neglected to take a photo of the backing which features a squirrel - he'll never be alone.

In our neck of the woods March is usually fickle and not to be trusted.  The month came in like a lion - according to the weather guys (does extreme cold count as lion like?)  - so we can hope it will go out like a lamb.  This week saw a warm up but with more snow ... it's encouraging.  Unfortunately, the long range forecast is for spring to show up about mid April - Mother Nature is mean this year.
