a new tomato can .....
If you recall a few posts back I'd been trying to make a mug organizer but I it was a dismal failure. If you check the link I included in that post you'll see some lovely ones that Karen made. I'm a firm believer that 'things happen for a reason' and I'm quite sure this is the reason my mug/can organizer didn't work out.
Would you believe this blouse is
covering a tomato can?
It's a Lecien design.

cozying up ....
It's time I shared some of the sewing that's been happening in the last few weeks. Here are a few pix .....
The egg cozies that match the tea cozy
are for home and the others are
for the cottage.
We're rather abusive to pot holders so I made slipcovers
for them - actually one set for the cottage and one
set for home ... these ones are for the cottage.
It was a good way to use up some scraps.
I made an envelope closure for them
to make it easy to slip off and on for washing.

And two more journal covers. The top
one has an inside pocket for a pen.

a blast from the past ....
Recently I received a package in the mail from my kid sister. She said that her youngest daughter, K, had been looking through her cedar chest, which once belonged to our mother, and found these at the bottom. My sister thought I should have the card since it was signed by my dad along with my name and my late brother's name. She had no idea about the flowers. The flowers were mom's corsage for her wedding - they were yellow tea roses. My parents were married in 1943 and theirs was a life long love affair. The card, which has a padded front, is likely about 65 years old and was still in it's original box. I treasure these.
And now you know how old I am!

Super Bowl Sunday!
The temperature has warmed up considerably and the sun is shining although more snow is in the forecast. The groundhog seems to be as confused as we are about the weather .... spring will arrive or will not arrive in 6 weeks. The calendar tells us it will arrive in 6.5 weeks and with any luck Mother Nature will cooperate by supplying the appropriate weather.
Today is Super Bowl Sunday and this is what I'm planning to work on whilst watching the game ......
