she is .....

She is everywhere, she is nowhere
but she is still here ......

In memory of Little Dog who went to the Rainbow Bridge one year ago today - we still miss her very much. ♥

busy work

While waiting for the spring weather to arrive I stitched up these minis to use for cards - they didn't take long and kept me busy.  ^^

Worry less ... smile more.

lemonade .....

If life gives you lemons make lemonade, right?  Only it wasn't life that supplied the lemons but a poor choice of fabric.  You see, I made these HSTs for a specific project but they looked ghastly for it.  Not wanting to waste them I kept fiddling with them until I finally came up with something that I liked and this is it  - a candle mat/mini quilt/tray cloth (gotta love versatility) ......  ^^

For the star centre I found a Scandinavian design here
that was just perfect.
I'm linking up with Slow Sunday Stitching.

Just in case you're wondering ..... we've had fabulously warm, sunny weather for several days - it's been so nice to be outdoors without a jacket!   We even went out for a picnic lunch and watched the hundreds of snow geese,  Canada geese, ducks, and Tundra swans along the river that's over it's banks.

Every end is a new beginning!

am I nuts .....

I like making HSTs (half square triangles) - am I nuts?

And these remind me of baskets.  ^^

 Stressed is desserts spelled backwards.

flower shoppe

This is a work in progress - I'm not sure what I want to do with it so this is as far as I've gotten.  ^^
 It's a Theodora Cleave design.

Linking up with Kathy's Quilts.

Each day is a second chance.

kitchen art .....

When I came across these improv birds I couldn't resist and since they're much too pretty to use they've become kitchen art.  You'll find the how-to here.

This is what I've come up with to hang my mini pieces  ..... a piece of plastic canvas on the back side for some support and a mini binder clip holds everything together and provides the hanger.  This method works really well even on the mini quilts.

I'd like to say "welcome and thank you" to my new followers.
L -  you are a no reply blogger and I'm unable to leave a comment on your blog.
Two of my favourite link parties are at Crazy Mom Quilts and Kathy's Quilts.

butterfly ....

Our spring storm is still raging - second day of heavy snow.  To keep from going mad I made this butterfly block.  If you flutter over to here you'll find the tutorial.

It went together so well but the head looks wonky in the photo ... maybe it is wonky - just like the weather.  ^^

3D flying geese

I've just discovered a new method of making flying geese and they're 3D!!   Here's a link
to a how-to for making them.  This is the easiest method yet for flying geese (for me, that is) and I really like the 3D effect.

Here's my sample ....

For this one I used 2 @ 2½x2½"  and 1 @ 2½x4½".

Winter is back with a vengence - there is already 2" of fresh snow this morning with the forecast of much more within the next 48 hours .... obviously, spring hasn't arrived.

Today is the perfect day to just be happy.

ladybugs .....

The ladybugs are large this year.  ^^  These were my weekend projects.  The background is a mini quilt that I'm working on - all it needs is the binding.  The lily of the valley will be added to my assortment of pieces to be made into cards.  I used one of my new variegated threads for the pot and am pleased with the result ... it reminds me of a terra cotta pot.

The lily of the valley design is from Croix de Christine.

And some good news .... the tulips are poking their heads through the ground and it has rained - it must be spring!!!

It's okay to not be okay all the time.
