made myself a present .....

Thanks to Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts  I made myself a gift block table topper.    Wouldn't this make  beautiful cushion covers?  Be sure to check out the lovelies that Lorna made with this block.

I hand-quilted it and used a pale gold print for the backside.  I'd planned on adding a binding but after auditioning many fabrics none seemed appropriate.   ^^

Stocking stuffers for the grown ups ...

I'm hoping these will make good stocking stuffers ...

I trimmed purchased tea towels with fabric
to fancy them up and crocheted some
Primrose dishcloths from cotton yarn - nice and bright for the job.
Hmmmm who gets what .......

And this lavender filled sachet is for a very special someone.
It's photographed on the tree from this post.

We got snow overnight and Little Dog likes it!

more for Christmas ....

There still isn't any snow on the ground but it's quite cold just now - something to do with a polar vortex that's happened a bit early in the season.  I have some more finishes for Christmas to share with you ...

This is an Art to Heart design that I turned into a mini
wall hanging.

Mug Rugs/coasters (reversible) for the coffee lovers - I cut 5" squares
(charm squares would have been handy)
of front and back fabric, added some batting, sandwiched all the pieces and stitched around
then turned right side out and top stitched - easy peasy.
The check fabric is what I used for the reverse sides.

Here is another of the Advent Animals that I first
posted about here.  Isn't she just the most beautiful camel!

Cookies and milk for Santa is a freebie from Sandy.  The polka dot
fabric is what I used for the back side.  This wasn't
my best finish but since I'd erred by cutting
the fabric a bit too small it is what it is.  ^^

first snow ....

We had our first snowfall - just a skiff of snow that quickly disappeared but it served as a reminder that our warm fall weather is over and Old Man Winter is on his way....

In my excitement over the snow I made a Yorkshire Pudding to serve with our roast beef and it turned out so well that I had to take a photo of it.  ^^

It was crispy on the top and bottom and tasted as good as it looked.  Yes, the two of us ate all of it - not at one sitting mind you.  Yorkshire Pudding is also good when it's cold with a bit of butter on it.  ^^

The McLaren crest project that I posted about here .... the one that took me a decade, yes a decade, forever to stitch is finished. I framed it with a plaid fabric similar to the McLaren Tartan.   The chart is now in my sister's capable hands.

Christmas projects .....

I'm a Christmas Junkie - I love everything about it....except
the commercialism, that is.   I work on
Christmas projects year around.  And you'll never hear me groan about
'Christmas stuff already?'   Here are a few Christmas pieces  that I've finished ......

I fussy cut these reversible mug rugs/coasters -
the reverse side is bit more sophisticated and there's
a sample of it peeking out on the lower right side.

This is 'Snowman's Best Friend', a design from HERE
It was part of the 2013 "12 Days of Christmas"

I finished this candle mat with a solid, dark green backing.
It's approx. 12" square.

I like this gift tag/ornie from HERE.  It's
finished with felt on the back - it's a favourite and I've made a few for gifts.
