Recently I received a package in the mail from my kid sister. She said that her youngest daughter, K, had been looking through her cedar chest, which once belonged to our mother, and found these at the bottom. My sister thought I should have the card since it was signed by my dad along with my name and my late brother's name. She had no idea about the flowers. The flowers were mom's corsage for her wedding - they were yellow tea roses. My parents were married in 1943 and theirs was a life long love affair. The card, which has a padded front, is likely about 65 years old and was still in it's original box. I treasure these.
And now you know how old I am!

Ah these are lovely Kate and I love that your parents had a lifelong love affair :-)
That is so precious Kate!! It's amazing that there is still some color in the roses!
Kate, sentimental me cried a little! The card is just beautiful! I have a few cards from a long ago time, and I cherish each one, signed by my Mom or my Dad to each other. They are precious memories!! :) ps, I have cotton lace piece from the front of my Mom's wedding dress, during the war, she had cut it to save it, for all those years! :)
Oh, what a lovely find! I just treasure anything old from my parents early days together, too, Kate! So nice that your sister realized how much these would mean to you...
