saskatoons, zucchini, and dragonflies .....
This is the largest dragonfly that we have and he was taking a break from mosquito catching. We so enjoy having him and his relatives around.
The wild saskatoons in cottage country are plentiful this year for the first time in ages. We're delighted and I expect the wildlife is, too! We ate some fresh, some in a pie, and froze some to use this winter. A saskatoon berry is similar to a blueberry but tastier.
We harvested our first zucchini of the season and thoroughly enjoyed it as a stirfry - sauté sliced garlic, onions, and zucchini in some olive or canola oil along with a few chili flakes (optional); add a diced tomato and season to taste, add some fresh parsley if you have it .... yummy!

summer stitching .....
I've been working on these over the summer and am still pondering how to finish them. Although the tentative plan for the lavender honey piece is to use it for a card.
The stitchery was from 'Down Grapevine Lane', the honey lavender is a Madame la Fée design, and the blackwork was a SAL via Claire93. This was the first blackwork and SAL that I've ever done - I enjoyed it and learned lots, mostly from my errors.

meet Nigel
Allow me to introduce you to Nigel, the pesky cottage squirrel. He's as cute as a bug's ear and very entertaining but terribly naughty!
These crocheted lovelies are 'travel blooms' that I found here. There are myriad uses for these and they're fun to crochet - let your imagination run wild!
