lemonade .....

If life gives you lemons make lemonade, right?  Only it wasn't life that supplied the lemons but a poor choice of fabric.  You see, I made these HSTs for a specific project but they looked ghastly for it.  Not wanting to waste them I kept fiddling with them until I finally came up with something that I liked and this is it  - a candle mat/mini quilt/tray cloth (gotta love versatility) ......  ^^

For the star centre I found a Scandinavian design here
that was just perfect.
I'm linking up with Slow Sunday Stitching.

Just in case you're wondering ..... we've had fabulously warm, sunny weather for several days - it's been so nice to be outdoors without a jacket!   We even went out for a picnic lunch and watched the hundreds of snow geese,  Canada geese, ducks, and Tundra swans along the river that's over it's banks.

Every end is a new beginning!

Wow, Kate! It looks like you were able to salvage your HSTs and use them for a cool candle mat/mug rug. Way to go! Enjoy your weekend!

And then today hit with the rain! Or at least it did here, but I did enjoy those sunny, mild days. It seems like it jumped from the 60s straight into the 80s! Love your block. That embroidery just makes it perfect.

Very cute! Love the title - by the babbling brook. Reminds me of summers in Vermont as a kid.

Looks so pretty and certainly will come in handy. Please send some warm dry weather this way, it still feels like winter 😳
