We opened the cabin and spent a few days there enjoying the beautiful weather - couldn't believe how sunny and warm it was. Of course, I'd taken clothes for cooler weather so it meant pant legs and long sleeves rolled up. It was wonderful to be there again and a pair of purple finches greeted us as we arrived .... they were staying for dinner so I had to quickly dust off and fill the feeder. ^^ Actually they were still there when we left.
This was the bag of needlework I'd taken to work on
but the only thing I accomplished was handstitching the binding on the the flower shoppe.
You see, we were quite busy with putting out all the doodads, bird feeders, bird houses, etc. and being entertained by the birds. When we weren't busy with that we were being social - perhaps too social. ^^ We enjoyed ourselves and even had the first weiner roast of the season. Sadly the wood ticks are quite abundant and beaver has been very naughty.

Congratulations on getting the binding attached to your quilt project! What a cute bag, Kate! Did you create it? It sounds like you had a wonderful few days at your cabin.
Love your bag and your stitchery is really beautiful.
I have some extra garden ladies, maybe I should make mini quilts with them.

glad you had a lovely few days Kate... watching the animals can be so entertaining!
So spring has finally arrived in Canada! Enjoy the warm weather and the birds!
The bag and the quilt are both so cute!
Your time was well spent, Kate--that turned out great :) It's always so nice to open your cabin again each spring, I'm sure!
Lovely bag and quilt, Kate! Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the cabin...glad the weather is warming up for you! It's Autumn here and the temperatures are still in the 80s in the daytime but cool in the mornings. The southern states are cooler though.
Glad you had a lovely time at the cabin. Love you mini. Hugs,xx
Sounds like a great first stay at your cabin being greeted by all the beautiful birds that also enjoy the spring weather. And you even got some sewing done - the little quilt looks gorgeous.
I love quilts...and that's one thing I have yet to try.
What a fabulous time it sounds. I like your bag, by the way, and the binding on that cute little quiltlet makes a wonderful finish.
