making do and something is lurking .....

Since I have limited resources at the cabin this cutie was a case of  'making do' and that was a blessing in disguise .... I think I'm  more creative when I don't have much to work with.   The design is by Jeni.  I stitched it on my favourite background - dropcloth.  ^^  My plans are to make this into a hanging pocket.

It's been a most splendid end of summer and beginning of autum and we're still at the cabin  - there have been a few cool nights that gave us a good excuse to light a fire ^^ followed by some warmer weather.  The leaves are changing every day but still hanging on.  My daily walks are less interesting although very colourful  - no evidence of wildlife other than a squished frog  but I've seen a couple of wooly worms and surprisingly they are not very wooly .... I've never seen such scantily clad wooly worms and wonder if it's some indication of weather to come.

Do you think there might be an alligator lurking ....  ^^

Alligator???? Yikes. I hope it is just eyeballs on an old log. ;-)

The autumn colors and cooler temps tell me change is in the air.

That's a great "make do" project.

Wonderful piece and I think I do better with make do, it makes me more creative.
That is a fun log, love seeing things in trees, lots of shapes and faces.

Oh , such a nice flower basket that you stitched. And I think a hanging pocket is a wonderful idea.
But, please, beware of he mini alligator, lol.

a lovely bit of appliqué ^^ I think it's often best just to sew/stitch without worrying too much what the piece will become. The fun is in the making, after all ^^

Make-do is not a bad thing Kate; it progresses a project quicker... lovely work there!

It's a lovely basket! I'll bet it is wonderful where you are. We were still in the 80s today, but 71 tomorrow! I'm excited for some cooler weather, though I didn't hear the AC go on much today. Maybe none tomorrow!
