African flower ......

Wow - the first of February - I didn't mind that January flew by - I'm enjoying the extra hours of daylight!
I was all set to whine about my difficulty trying to crochet a mobious wrap when suddenly the pattern worked out - go figure!  Instead, I'll show you an  African Flower that I recently crocheted with cotton yarn.  Since I have a lot of pincushions I made it into a lid cover.

For the Celtic/Gaelic/Pagan celebration of February and the first awakenings of spring - Imbolc - this is a design by the Primitive Hare

if you listen to birds
every day will have a song in it

Wonderful pieces, it has been a long time since I did any crochet, not sure if my brain could follow along now;)

Hi Kate, didn't know anything about Imbolc so I had to look it up - Mr Google knows everything!

Your crocheted African flower looks wonderful as a lid cover. And well done successfully completing the möbius shawl! Love your latest stitchery.

What I like best about February is the fact that the sun comes up a little earlier each morning and sets a little later each evening. That promises spring, you are right. This week you could think that easily because we are having plus temperatures, even during the nights - after several weeks with temps of -15°C during the night and sometimes even during the day. Not what I prefer, lol.

Great projects that you finished, Kate. I love that lid cover a lot, so colourful. And your stitched piece looks great, too. The Primitive Hare has several of these Celtic/Gaelic designs and some of them are also in my stash.

African flower is on my list to learn. I've just finished a crocheted hexagon afghan...taking ages to stitch them together but so happy with it. Love the Primitive Hare too and your little sayings. Happy stitching to you!
