We made two trips to the cabin this past weekend - it's so nice to be only an hour's drive away. The snow is quickly disappearing - the wind that blew for 2 days in early March left behind some hefty snowbanks that have disappeared to the point that we had no problem walking in. We were hoping to see the ice go out but that happened overnight last night.
Nigel the resident squirrel was on the deck to welcome us.....
We had a visit with cottage neighbour and good friend E -
discovered some pussy willows that were alongside the road that didn't require rubber boots to access them -
made me a happy camper ......
I've been sampling daffodil patterns ....
I like the size of the bottom one and the design of the one on the right -
I'm working with the yarn that I have on hand.
i've seen it all done -
can't remember most of it

We have daffodils in the garden! I love them! These flowers are so cute! Spring is definetely here!!!
The lake looks beautiful, even with the snow.
I have a few blooms coming up, but we need more warm weather to get the flowers and blooms.
Debbie
Love the squirrel waiting to welcome you to your cabin. Thanks for the link too, those of us who live a long way away now have another little glimpse of your part of the world.
Do you still have snow? We've got spring in full swing here - it's true heaven!
Love your crochet flowers!
Oh my, that was a lot of snow around the cabin. But good for you that you could visit there.
Your crochet daffodils are so beautiful. Some time ago I learnt that there are also pink daffodils but so far I haven't seen any.
Thank you for the link which leads us to the region where your cabin is. That reminds me of a book that I read many many years ago, the author is Gabrielle Roy and the setting is somewhere at Waterhen Lake. But unfortunately I forgot the title. I have to look it up.
lovely photos, and I bet Nigel was happy to see you!
Glad you made it back to the cabin after the cold winter away, Kate. It looks like such a relaxing place. Interesting to see where it is located as I confess, I don't know a lot about Canadian geography other than Ontario (we are just 4 hours south of Toronto).
Lovely daffodils--what fun to experiment a bit with patterns and colors! There are some real beauties out there these days. I need to buy some of the pink and peach bulbs to plant next fall :)
Glad you were able to get away to your cabin; what a cute welcoming committee you have! Your crocheted daffodils are sweet.
I LOVE pussy willows. I don't ever see them except in flower arrangements here. The spring daffodils are the perfect project for this time of the year. It won't be long before that snow is all gone.
Pussy willows always look god in any arrangement, I think. I'm glad you found some. The cabin is in the snow, but you are in spring, right? The daffodils look wonderful, all three of them. What will you do with them?
