the hurrier i go ....

It seems that the hurrier I go the behinder I get.  I recently spent a day running around doing errands and feel like I've been away for weeks.  I went to the post office to mail an overseas parcel - I wanted to beat the rush and long lineups - ha ha.  The lineup was to the door and parcels were piled everywhere - I feel sorry for post office workers during the Christmas rush - I never expected the rush would have started mid November.  We also made a trip to the Mall - thought it would be a reasonably quiet time - wrong - big time wrong - so much for getting our bit of shopping done early.  I really wanted to get a Christmas gift bag with doggies on it - I was unsuccessful - two of the stores that sell these didn't even have their Christmas items unpacked yet - climbing over boxes yet to be unpacked was the flavour of the day - have to give them credit for not having their Christmas items out too early.  On the positive side it was quiet at the grocery store - we enjoyed that.  This is what's on it's way .......

Days out like that are so frustrating. Glad the grocery store was okay. That is such a cute cross stitch.

I really think the days get shorter as we get older, Kate! Or, I'm just much, much slower about doing things than I used to be--probably the latter :)

Very cute card and your gift will be well-loved, I'm sure!

It certainly gets busier and busier in the lad up to Christmas!

It is that time of year, we went to out of the way places and it was a bit crowded, so I can imagine what the big stores are like.

Such a lovely card and a wonderful gift. Both will be well appreciated.
I also was surprised when I had to mail out some packages to overseas addresses last week. The post office was crowded. But hey, the people were thinking the same as I was: Already? Lol.

How cute that stitchery is, and I like the block, too. When I was in the post office last week, it wasn't as bad as it's going to get, but I didn't expect a waiting line yet, either. I have only one thing to mail, really, and I want to do that this coming week before it gets awful!

I guess it was one of those days - and we've all got them :) Sometimes you can't help it (feels like Universe playing tricks) and it's better to just run with the flow. We are Ortodox Christians in my country and we celebrate Christmas according to the old calendar which means on the 7th of January and there is no shopping madness at all because we do not have a tradition of giving each other presents on Christmas. We give presents on New Year's Eve. But that madness has yet to come :)
