imbolc .....

On the Pagan Calendar, today is Imbolc - it marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox - it is the beginning of spring (although not in my neck of the woods).  We usually celebrate on February 2 with Ground Hog Day knowing the spring equinox (not necessarily spring) is 6 weeks away.  This is one of Isobel's  designs....

let us nurture
the spirit of renewal
and embrace the light
of the lengthening days

Happy imbolc day x I stitched this one but am ashamed to say I have yet to finish it. Yours has been finished off very prettily.

I actually had to google Imbolc to learn more about it. I love the Celts and their culture and try to pick up some knowledge here and there. At uni we did learn a lot, but years have passed and I do have to brush up on my knowledge :)
Your work is exceptional!

Oh, I always wondered about the word on that chart, Kate! Thanks for expanding my knowledge :) Pretty finish--love the colors together :)

We have more rain and snow, on and off this week, was hoping it would warm up early, lol.
Your piece is beautiful and perfect for spring.

According to my blog counter, and figuring the American way, 46 more days until spring! Yay! I didn't know about Imbolc. That's a pretty stitchery piece, too.

That's a lovely little sheep! I hope it's not too cold, although it seems to have a nice thick coat...
