Since the squirrels were disappeared Chip, the chipmunk, has free run of the cabin yard - he's friendly, entertaining and gets along with the birds. Here he is trying out a new feeder - he seems to like it. ^^
As you can see the grass is slow to turn green - it's extremely dry here. And Hum, the ruby throat hummingbird, arrived right on schedule - amazes me every year.

I think chipmunks are so cute, we have a pair that raids our feeder. We also have a ton of squirrels and a pair of red squirrels, and along with the black bird raids, getting expensive to feed them all, lol.

I love watching chipmunks, squirrels, and birds. I need a house that's off in the woods somewhere so I can get other wildlife.
Lovely snapshot of Chip! I am happy to hear that Hum has returned. Enjoy your weekend, Kate!
Aww...what a cute little chipmunk. It amazes me each year when the birds find their way back.
So sweet, as you probably know, we don't have squirrels or chipmonks here in New Zealand.
Oh wow Kate, how good is it that the bird turns up every year?! So wonderful! And it looks like Chip is happy with his days there.
I hope you get some rain soon... we need it too as it's been a very dry Autumn so far
It's so funny to see how Chip collecting the food in his mouth :o)))

Chip is darling! I love watching chipmunks (except when they are gobbling up newly planted sunflower seeds!).
