A finish and my first hexie

This is my four season stitchery.  My kid sister gave me the pattern, which could be stitched or appliqued.  Fortunately, she prefers applique to stitching so there was one for each of us.  I used pencil crayons to add a bit of colour and added triangles at the back for hanging...

And this is my first hexie.......

unsettled weather

We've had a lot of unsettled weather this summer, which is a polite way of saying it's been raining like crazy .... can you believe 10" in two weeks!?!  I thought we lived in the grain belt not the rain belt!   Not to mention the windstorms and even a tornado watch!   We've also experienced some unsettled weather at the cottage and this was some of our entertainment when we couldn't be outdoors.

little dog ... before and after

Little dog loves the water!  Here she is swimming and resting afterwards.  She's made a little spot for herself under the stairs.

Who needs a plant poke when you've got your very own live frog!  He's quite comfy and didn't mind having his picture taken.

The frogs are abundant this year and come in all sizes and colours.  There is one that hangs out around the dock that looks like a large tree frog and is the most beautiful shade of green ... I just love it when he pops out and says hello but he doesn't linger long enough to get a photo.

Happy Independence Day to my American friends!

another finish

I stitched this whilst at the cottage. It was June's FFF from Kaaren.
I should have taken a picture of the back as well to show you what fabric I used.  My basket of pin cushions continues to grow.
