last one for fall .....

This could be my last project for fall.  Whilst de-cluttering I was sorting through some craft magazines and came across an old issue of Create and Decorate with such an appealing cover I had to sit down and leaf through it ... and that's where I found this design.  I'd already labelled the magazine with 'save' and it's definitely a keeper.  Create and Decorate no longer publishes nor offers access to their archives - such a shame.

I used dropcloth for the pocket and lined it with a piece of flannel from an old shirt - the applique is felt.  I brushed on some cinnamon to antique it.

Look what we awoke to earlier this week -  it disappeared within 24 hours
but served as a warning from Mom Nature.

That is a wonderful piece and I loved their magazine. I started in 2005 and up to the last year, was sorry to see them go, always projects to make and designs you could use in different ways. I have kept mine too, still things i want to make.

This is definitely avery beautiful idea for fall decoration. I love how your made it.
But I had to look twice to believe my eyes - snow already? And so much? But then I remembered that we have also had years where the first snow falls were in October. But fortunatley this first snow melts away very soon.

What a cute fall piece, Kate--it looks so warm and cozy with the flannel lining. I often use my sons old flannel shirts for finishing, too :)

No snow here yet, but I'm sure we'll be seeing some before too long. Glad yours melted quickly.

Oh, my gosh, I can't believe you had snow already - even if it didn't last long! That's more snow than we had all winter last year, if I take out the one horrible storm that came with both days of snow and days of slush that froze into icy roads overnight - that was awful, but the rest of the winter was less snow than this all together!

But I love your crow. So, so cute! And fall, definitely. Do crows and pumpkins like the snow? LOL

Love!! I also love seeing your snow! My sister lives in the part of Arizona that gets snow and they just got a bit a couple days ago, so excited for them! Everybody I talk to can't believe I am excited for the winter/snow to get here (Ohio).

Thank you for your comment on my Christmas blog!
