We're having a splendid Thanksgiving weekend. We had a nice visit with my Aunt Lou (she's a hoot), a lovely drive there and back, have eaten well, and fabulous weather!! In recent years we've had some Thanksgiving weekends with freezing rain or worse that made family visits, near or far, quite difficult/impossible.
The Christmas countdown is already on in blogland with weekly projects appearing here and there providing all sorts of inspiration ... I love Christmas projects! ^^ I only have one Christmas item to show you just now - it's hanging on the first wooden tree that my husband made for me. The pillow is antiqued but that's not showing up in the photo.
When I found this weathered board at the cabin I knew what I wanted to do with and here is my finished project .... I didn't have any old, grungy hardware to add to it so I used some rope and tied it with my favourite knot. The letters are painted white but have been grunged up a bit with some bronze paint.
I wanted to try out this coaster from here . I know, it's so bright, but they (there will be 2) are for someone who likes these colours and it will brighten up a dull winter day.

Wonderful pieces and I guess I will have to think about christmas soon, probably make small pillows as gifts this year. I do love the look of weathered wood signs and plan on making one for my beach room.

I love Christmas projects, too! I would like to start to prepare for Christmas :o) It's never too early :o)
Oh my goodness Kate don't even say that C word! I refuse to do much of that sort of thing until my daughters have had their birthdays mid-Oct... great use of the timber, the letters look great
I don't stitch a lot of Christmas projects, just he occasional ornament or card. But I love seeing them appear on the various blogs. Your little pillow ornament looks gorgeous.
Lovely finishes! Your Christmas ornament looks great with the red writing :)
I'm glad you got a visiting Thanksgiving this year! Your projects look great and I really love the welcome board. Maybe when we pull my deck boards out and replace them, one will be usable that way by the front door. Thanks for the idea and yes, my boards look way worse than that. =) There are parts of the deck I don't walk on now.
How nice to have had such good weather for your Thanksgiving, Kate--ours is always chilly and gray it seems being at the end of November. Your little pillow is so cute--like the way you did the red and white in the first letters :) And your newest mat and welcoming sign are so creative!
Hope your week is going well :)
Ciao Kate, già pensi al Natale in anticipo . Fai bene, perchè cosi ti prepari in tempo. Mi piacciono le tue creazioni, il cuscinetto lo trovo adorabile. A presto. Antonietta
