voilà

It was just one another of those things that I had to try ..... making a hexie from a circle.  I wouldn't even consider making them any other way now.  So I got carried away making a few and was trying to come up with an idea for using them.  I'd put a few together for a mug rug/coaster but keeping the same shape (hexie flower) for the backing and attaching it neatly was a challenge and needs a better plan.  Then I spotted a hexie pincushion and decided that was a good idea except that I have a huge wooden bowl full of pincushions that I've made - overkill,  just like the hearts.  But anyway, the pincushion was a challenge so I made one and voilà .......

It measures 3" across and took 8 hexies.  I tried to fussy cut the two for the top and bottom centres - I really should use a clear template for fussy cutting.  ^^

Adorable pincushion! The fussy cut flower is just perfect! I like things that are a little off-center or only part of something. So tell us what it was that you liked so much about this method.

Why not have another pinked to add to the bowl with the others? You definitely made a great one :)

Nice pincushion. I've made that pincushion and it IS a bit of a challenge. Nice work.
