bagels

We enjoy bagels but they are not available in our community so desperation led me to try making my own.  I'm pleased to say they turned out just fine - some were a bit misshapen and lumpy sort of like me but they tasted really good.  I used this recipe .

We cannot buy Chipotles in Adobo Sauce either - not even "in town".  The fact is we haven't had any since we left British Columbia and boy, do we miss them.  However, I did find some McCormick's chipotle chile pepper that has the same smokey, hot flavour so we're enjoying that.  When I make aioli I often will add some of this and it punches it up a notch or two.

Oh, those look great, Kate!! My son and I tried to make bagels once, but they didn't turn out very well. Perhaps I'll give your recipe a try :)

Kate the bagel looks great to me. I like the look of slightly imperfect-looking things like that, sometimes the shop-bought items look too 'manufactured'... YUM!

I am soooo impressed! I like to cook and bake but bagels are way out there.
Chipotles in Adobo Sauce??? Fasinated by that one? What is it - to me it sounds like small sausages in sauce.

They look delicious to me. We have family in PA and try to visit each year. I definitely have favourite foods that we try to have each time we are there. And then I pack my case with a much as I can to bring home, too.
