I'm very fortunate to have a few vintage linens including some hankies. It seems a shame for them to be tucked away but I couldn't come up with a good idea .... and then the light bulb went on - why not make sachets from the hankies. I experimented with one and was quite pleased with how it turned out.

That is a great idea, Kate--I have a few from my grandmother that are very special, too!
What a great idea. I have a load of hankies somewhere. I had always thought I would make some kind of patchwork but this is very cute.

Too cute!!!
What a lovely way to showcase vintage hankies! And leave a sweet scent in a drawer! I have over a hundred hankies and have done nothing with them. I should try this! Thanks, Kate, for the idea!

How sweet is THAT little sachet?! TOTALLY!! Love it. Thanks for the idea for ways to use some of the hundreds of vintage handkerchiefs my Mom and I have collected. I keep using them for quilt labels and I'm even making a couple of different quilts out of them. (you can see photos of them on the quilt page of my blog). About 23 years ago I made a quilt out of pretty vintage hankies where I cut them into hearts and appliqued them onto squares and set them on point. They were so pretty with the embroidery featured in the point of the heart. I hope to scan a photo of that quilt sometime soon and post it on my blog. It's the first quilt I ever made (though my parents were a huge help with it, too).
I'm very happy to have found your blog on this Canadian blog hop. And thanks for stopping by mine.
That's a great idea Kate... would make a wonderful gift..
