Here's a photo of the finished pocket that I had mentioned here......
With reluctance we closed the cabin for the winter. We draw our water from the river so the water line needs to be pulled out before freeze up. This year the river is VERY high so we made good use of the chest waders. Since we now live so close to the cabin we can visit quite regularly and it's because we live nearby that we were able to stay there this late in the season - it was quite a treat. Before we left I filled a suet cage with peanut butter balls made with all sorts of goodies and the chickadees were enjoying the treat along with several blue jays - sadly, I didn't get a good photo of them.

That's adorable!
Your cabin sounds just lovely.
What a sweet bag you created, Kate! I know you are sad to be closing up the cabin for winter, but now that you live closer perhaps a day trip could happen more often. Have a wonderful weekend!
Glad that you were able to enjoy the cabin so late this year.
I love that sweet little pocket.
Love the little bag. So cute. Hugs,xx
Your pocket is beautiful and love the simple florals you put in it.
I guess it gets colder in that area, earlier. I did see that the upper states might get snow in the mountains this weekend, so winter is coming. I am not ready yet, hoping the winds are not too bad so we can get out on sunday.

Good evening, dear Kate! My what a charming little pocket! I just love it :)
I wanted to thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. Your blog is simply delightful and I am happy to be a new follower of yours.
I also saw that you're from Canada....I live in the states now, by my dear dad and his side of the family are Canadian. I lived in Southampton, Ontario during my childhood and oh, how I loved it there! I think part of my heart was left in Southampton when I moved back to the states :)
Have a splendid weekend! Hugs! Stephanie-The Enchanting Rose
It's a lovely pocket!!!
Wonderful pocket, such a darling design. I feel your sadness and reluctance to leave, but I also know you will be happy to be back to your regular haunts, too. I felt that dichotomy every year when we traveled, and even when we spent camping time in the summers and I was going back to work in the fall. I look forward to seeing what your next project is!
Your little picket is darling. I love this kind of finishing as these pockets look so great when you have twigs and small branches in them.
I can easily understand that you were a bit sad when you left your little paradise for the winter. But it's good that you don't live very away now.
What a delightful make Kate.
It looks so pretty and simple, a great decorative piece!
I do love your sweet bag, Kate! So lovely and simple :)
I'll bet you are leaving the cabin with wonderful memories--hopefully, they'll keep you going through this cold winter that is ahead of us. So happy that you had such a great (and long!) stay this year!
